1919

The history of margarine in the Lacroix family as reworker-salters in Grâce-Hollogne (Liège, Belgium) goes back to 1919.

1930

The Lacroix family decide to manufacture their own products. The early years will be very hard.

1936

Hope of success looms on the horizon. Unfortunately, the threat of world conflict becomes more menacing and culminates in World War II.

1940

The factory’s operations are stopped and the building is destroyed during the conflict.

1945

The Lacroix family goes back to square one and founds a new margarine factory.

1952

Production is oriented towards margarines and fats for the bakery and pastry industry.

Already at that time, the company enjoys a very envied reputation as a maker of margarine for puff pastry and croissants.

1958

Constitution of a private company with limited liability (S.P.R.L).

1983

Acquisition and outfitting of more appropriate premises on the current site (5000 m²) in Flémalle.

A continuous crystallization line is put into service.

1988

The S.P.R.L becomes an S.A. (joint-stock company). A second crystallization line is set up.

1995

Extension of the buildings and grounds, for a total area of more than 12,000 square metres. Two new lines are added to the existing lines.

The mixing process is entirely automated. The buildings are brought to HACCP standards.

The offices and workspace are re-organized to emphasise personalized reception.

The surroundings on the outside are also redone, with a fence and access management, plus greenery to set off a brand-new facade.

2000

ISO 9002 certification.

The layout and outfitting of the buildings such as we know them today are coming to an end.

Our raw material warehousing facilities are increased.

2002

Certisys certification of our organic margarine range.

2003

BRC certification.

We open our doors to the general public on Wallonia’s “Découverte Entreprise” (Business Discovery) day.

2005

Two new packaging lines (for 500 g sticks and 2 kg slices) are created.

75th birthday.

Unveiling of our new installations.

2007

Installation of the ERP system.

2009

Upgrading of the automated process machinery.

Doubling of the blending lines.

2011

Implementation of quality system FSSC 22000.

2012

FSSC 22000 Certification.
